Creating Curriculum for After School Programs That Promote Learning And Confidence

A successful after-school program can’t be imported as-is from another school, organization or church; it must be created for the students in your particular community. Different communities have different needs and emphasize different values, yet all students need focused and intensional after school programs which emphasis the prosocial skills of cooperation, sharing, and helping. These programs must also build peer and adult relationships and create developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The goal of Creating Curriculum for After School Programs is to demonstrate ways to support and empower students while tailoring a curriculum to the community you serve.
